OUR STORY

Meet Quiet Regards

Quiet reflections from family members who leaned on Quiet Regards' practical advocacy, reclaiming presence during life's most sacred moments.

I'm Emmi, an end-of-life doula based in Palm Beach. I believe this time deserves the same thoughtfulness, care, and attention as the rest of life. Quiet Regards brings together what I'm naturally drawn to: Listening closely to what matters to you, noticing the small things that bring comfort or need attention, and organizing the practical details so you and your family have more room to be together.

One of my earliest experiences of being present at the end of life was with our family dog. A big sweet Golden Retriever. As he neared death, he left our home for the marsh grass nearby. I sat with him as he stretched out and took his last breath. I felt honored he chose to share that moment with me. Long before I knew this work had as name, I was learning what it meant to remain beside another living being.

Years later, I have sat beside family members preparing for their passings. Hospice volunteering and working with older adults deepened my understanding of how much listening, companionship, and thoughtful attention can mean.

My background in design, organization, holistic health, hypnotherapy, and guided imagery has shaped an approach that is both practical and attentive to the whole person. I completed end-of-life doula training through IOELCA and obtained the National End-of-Life Doula Alliance Proficiency Badge by NEDA. My continuing studies include Soul Midwifery and Sacred Oils for end-of-life care with Felicity Warner in the United Kingdom.

I'm especially drawn to the creative possibilities of legacy: stories, photographs, recipes, letters, gardens, and the small details that make a life unmistakably yours. Gathering these pieces can offer something meaningful to enjoy now and pass on.

Above all, my role is to listen and learn what matters to you. There is still room for conversation, familiar music, laughter, reflection, quiet, and connection. Your wishes, beliefs, and way of being guide the care.
